POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Robotics Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of robotic control systems tailored for medical applications within a C++, Windows, and Python framework. This role involves analyzing user requirements to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability of software applications. The engineer will identify and utilize technologies that align with business objectives, thereby boosting team productivity. Additionally, this position serves as a mentor and leader for software and robotic team members throughout the product development lifecycle.
SALARY RANGE
The compensation for this role ranges from $140,000 to $155,000, influenced by various factors including training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, and market conditions. This base pay range is subject to future adjustments and may include eligibility for bonuses, equity, and comprehensive company benefits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain high-quality, testable code.
- Lead research and development initiatives to innovate or enhance existing robotic arm subsystems in alignment with business goals.
- Conduct research and development to refine control system algorithms, focusing on performance and safety improvements.
- Oversee the complete application development lifecycle.
- Facilitate product planning by assessing feasibility, defining requirements, and proposing effective solutions.
- Generate and sustain software documentation, including descriptions, flowcharts, architectural diagrams, and code comments.
- Assist in the creation of software validation and quality assurance protocols.
- Engage in continuous professional development by staying updated on current development tools, programming methodologies, and robotic technologies.
- Design, develop, and modify software systems utilizing simulation techniques and scientific analysis to predict and evaluate design outcomes.
- Enhance operational efficiency through systems analysis and recommendations for policy and procedural changes.
- Participate in research and applications related to robotic patents.
- Collaborate closely with AI/ML and computer vision development teams.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Control Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering is typically required; advanced degrees (M.S. or Ph.D.) in related fields are advantageous. Candidates should possess eight to twelve years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
