About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as an Estimator with a General Contractor, with expertise in hospitality, mixed-use, multifamily, or similar projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for hospitality construction projects, considering various factors such as materials, labor, equipment, permits, subcontractor bids, and overhead costs.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering plans to determine the amount of materials and labor required for each phase of the construction project.
  • Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers and evaluate them to ensure the most competitive and cost-effective options are selected.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to establish project budgets and monitor expenses throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to the budget.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and provide alternative solutions without compromising the quality of the project.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of cost estimates, budgets, change orders, and other relevant project documentation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure a reliable network of resources for future projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, labor costs, material prices, and other factors that may impact project costs to provide the most accurate estimates.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team, including architects, engineers, construction managers, and other stakeholders, to coordinate and integrate estimating efforts.
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties related to project cost estimates and propose appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Continuously review and improve estimating processes and techniques to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience as an Estimator with a General Contractor.
  • Hospitality, mixed-use, multifamily, or similar project experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software, spreadsheets, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
