Job Overview

POSITION: Full-time Member Service Representative.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Deliver exceptional service to members by responding to inquiries via telephone and providing information about credit union products and services. Process transactions as requested by members, redirect calls as necessary, and conduct outbound courtesy calls. Promote credit union offerings and refer members to appropriate team members and Mid Oregon Financial Services when suitable.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Friendly and approachable demeanor; outstanding customer service skills for engaging with members over the phone; proficient keyboarding skills including 10-key; precision in transaction handling; capability to comprehend and retain extensive details about Credit Union products and services, and present them to members when fitting. Ability to ask relevant questions, offer solutions, and fulfill member requests to their satisfaction.

COMPENSATION: Starting salary of $18 per hour.

WORK SCHEDULE: Typically, the work hours are from 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. on Fridays.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

Engagement in telephone communication for approximately 95% of the workday. Occasional tasks may include clearing snow from sidewalks outside the office.

Continuous sitting, standing, conversing, and listening for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks such as typing and writing, and maintaining clarity of vision for processing member transactions and computer tasks. Memory retention is essential for recalling Credit Union policies, services, and relevant regulations.

Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds for moving supplies or office equipment, along with bending, squatting, or kneeling to access supplies at ground level, and reaching overhead for supplies.

Work Environment

The characteristics of the work environment described here are typical of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. Employees operate in an office setting with moderate noise levels influenced by computers, printers, scanners, telephones, and surrounding conversations. Seasonal weather conditions may affect travel.
