About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual individual to join our team as a Bilingual Customer Service Specialist at Bend Metro and Park Recreation District. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patrons, handling cash transactions, and performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to our patrons, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions, process refunds, credits, and transfers, and maintain accurate records.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, word processing, filing, and maintaining bulletin boards and display cases.
  • Scheduling and Processing: Schedule and process facility rentals, assist customers with program enrollment, and notify participants of program cancellations or changes.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with staff, patrons, and other stakeholders, both in person and over the phone.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, and one year of customer service experience with cashiering and computerized processing experience.
  • Bilingual Skills: Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of customer service standards, cashier and money handling procedures, general office practices, and basic math, spelling, business writing, and grammar.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, move about the office occasionally, and perform various physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 15 pounds.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Duties are primarily performed in a public reception environment.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to maintain sustained concentration on computer screens, use keyboards and various peripherals, and express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
Selection Process

Applicants are screened based on their relevant knowledge, abilities, skills, experience, and training. An offer of employment is contingent on the verification of credentials and other information required by Bend Park & Recreation District policies, including a background check and a driving history review when driving is required for the position.
