Job Summary:

The Colville Tribes is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated 4th Grade Teacher to join our team at Paschal Sherman Indian School. As an Education and Instructional Leader, you will be responsible for planning and implementing a course of instruction designed to aid each student in meeting the goals and objectives of the school for their assigned grade level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with state common core methods and meets the needs of diverse learners.
  • Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that promote student growth and achievement.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and well-disciplined classroom environment.
  • Participate in curriculum development and implementation, and contribute to the development of school policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve instructional methods.
  • Stay current with developments in education and instructional technology, and apply this knowledge to improve teaching practices.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a current and valid Washington State Teaching Certificate for Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
  • Requires a valid WA State Drivers' License, and must be eligible for the Tribes' vehicle insurance.
  • Requires obtaining a First Aid/CPR Certification within 30 working days, and maintaining throughout employment.
  • Must submit proof of degree/transcripts/certifications and three written letters of reference upon applying.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse student populations and developing culturally responsive instructional practices.
  • Knowledge of and experience with instructional technology, including computers, iPads, and interactive whiteboards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve school goals and objectives.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced educational environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The successful candidate must be able to maintain a positive and professional demeanor, even in challenging situations.
