Role Overview:

In the capacity of a Junior Fire Protection Engineer, you will engage with the fire protection discipline team on multiple ongoing projects, participating in pursuits, proposals, design, and construction phases. Your role will involve advancing design initiatives and making informed design choices. Additionally, you may assist in proposal and business development efforts, collaborating with project teams, senior and junior engineers, project managers, and clients on diverse projects encompassing commercial, industrial, and municipal/government sectors. This position is primarily remote; however, residing within a commutable distance to an airport is essential for attending client meetings in various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Grasp the necessary scope of fire alarm systems, smoke control, fire suppression, and related designs, interpreting code analyses, calculations, and other pertinent decisions as directed by senior engineers. Collaborate on design teams to produce construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination. Ensure designs account for capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, safety, constructability, and cost, while possessing inter-discipline knowledge of facility systems. Travel to project sites for engineering surveys, data collection for system studies, audits, and collaboration with client team members. Comprehend the intent of industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations such as NFPA. Demonstrate knowledge of and a willingness to learn design and modeling software (AutoCAD, Revit, hydraulic calculation software). Collaborate with the Engineering team to create sealed drawings and specifications.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent.

Minimum years of experience - At least 2 years of relevant experience in Fire Protection Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications :

Professional licensure (e.g., EIT/PE or GIT/PG) Experience in lean design and construction methodologies. LEED Accredited Professional status.
