General Overview of the Role
As a Medical Lab Scientist III, you will conduct both routine and advanced laboratory tests, offering expert technical guidance and insights across various clinical laboratory specialties. Your work will be essential in generating critical data that aids in the diagnosis and management of diseases.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess specimen quality for testing and collect samples for both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Review and validate test outcomes, promptly addressing any abnormal or unusual results and communicating findings to relevant personnel.
- Execute both standard and specialized testing procedures within your designated area, ensuring accurate correlation of laboratory results with disease stages and integrating data from other laboratory disciplines.
- Confirm abnormal findings and resolve specimen discrepancies, implementing appropriate follow-up actions.
- Conduct daily quality control and assurance activities, ensuring compliance with established tolerance limits and promptly reporting any quality issues to supervisory staff.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to specimen collection, laboratory data, and instrumentation, identifying root causes and applying corrective measures as per guidelines.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments, documenting all preventive and corrective maintenance actions.
- Engage in continuous professional development by attending relevant workshops and training sessions, accumulating the required continuing education hours annually.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to established laboratory protocols for decontamination and safety.
- Participate in the training and mentorship of new staff and students, providing technical support as needed.
- Ensure effective communication with the incoming shift to facilitate seamless operations.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. Candidates with military training as Medical Laboratory Specialists may also qualify.
- Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of clinical laboratory training or experience is required.
- Licenses and Certifications: Certification as a Medical Technologist or equivalent is mandatory, along with any relevant specialist certifications.
