Role Summary:
The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist plays a vital role in the healthcare team, assisting in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient health through the application of technical and scientific expertise. This position is accountable for the accurate, precise, and timely execution of laboratory tests. Medical Technologists/Medical Laboratory Scientists assess and report test findings while ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards, maintaining the quality expected of a World Class Laboratory. Excellent customer service skills are essential in all interactions, reflecting Mercy's commitment to service excellence.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree required
- Certifications: MLT certification OR Bachelor's degree in a relevant field OR Completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training program
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Preferred Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical laboratory experience
- Preferred Certifications: MT/MLS (ASCP) or equivalent
