Position Overview
A Medical Laboratory Scientist plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by conducting both routine and advanced laboratory tests. This position is essential for generating accurate data that aids in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess specimen adequacy for testing; collect samples for both quantitative and qualitative evaluations.
- Review and verify test outcomes, identifying and addressing any abnormal or unusual results, and communicate findings to relevant personnel.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and promptly.
- Conduct routine and specialized testing within designated areas.
- Correlate laboratory findings with disease stages and integrate data from other laboratory specialties.
- Confirm abnormal results and resolve specimen discrepancies by implementing appropriate follow-up procedures.
- Perform and document daily quality control and assurance measures to maintain compliance with established tolerance limits.
- Notify supervisors of any quality assurance or control issues.
- Evaluate proficiency testing materials as required by regulatory standards.
- Analyze technical challenges related to specimen collection, laboratory data, and instrumentation.
- Identify causes of issues and implement corrective actions in accordance with established protocols.
- Calibrate laboratory instruments and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain adequate supplies and reagents in the laboratory to ensure efficient sample processing.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical or Clinical Laboratory Science or a closely related discipline.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, specifically in high complexity testing.
- ASCP MLS Certification or an equivalent credential.
