Role Summary:

The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist plays a vital role in the healthcare team, contributing to the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient health through expert technical and scientific knowledge. This position is accountable for the precise, accurate, and timely execution of laboratory tests. Medical Technologists/Medical Laboratory Scientists assess and report test outcomes while ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards and maintaining the quality expected of a World Class Laboratory. Exceptional customer service skills are essential in all interactions, both internal and external, reflecting the Mercy Signature Service.

Key Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate degree required
  • Certifications: MLT certification OR Bachelor's degree in a relevant field meeting certification agency requirements OR Completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training program
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Preferred Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical laboratory experience
  • Preferred Certifications: MT/MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification
