About Breaking Ground: Breaking Ground is a leading provider of supportive housing and services to individuals experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to help people maintain their homes for the long-term and achieve stability and independence.

Job Overview: The 311 Dispatcher will be responsible for receiving and responding to incoming 311 calls related to homelessness and other issues in Brooklyn and Queens. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience in customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming 311 calls and deploy appropriate outreach response teams
  • Close out 311 calls with callers and City agencies
  • Record 311 call data and complete filing and paperwork as needed
  • Work as part of a team to achieve performance targets related to 311 responses

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, verbal, and written skills
  • Ability to communicate and work with diverse populations
  • Detailed-oriented and highly organized
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Benefits: This is an hourly position with a minimum hiring rate of $17.50 per hour. Benefits include paid time off, health insurance, and professional development opportunities.
