The Opportunity

We are on the lookout for a Lead Content Strategist to join our Live XD team. The ideal candidate will merge exceptional communication abilities with a fervor for user experience design and entertainment.

Role Overview


In this position, you will leverage language and design to influence the evolution of Live programming on Netflix, encompassing sports and major events.

Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, you will experiment with innovative content design strategies that inform, educate, guide, and captivate users while delivering tangible business results.

Your Expertise:
As a narrative architect, you can weave cohesive stories across various platforms.

You are adept at designing experiments and collaborating closely with Designers and Product Managers to formulate hypotheses and testing strategies.

Your use of language and tone brings products to life, imbuing interactions with brand personality.

You can adapt your writing style, from concise value propositions to detailed microcopy.

You are a systems thinker, excelling in developing scalable language frameworks.

You know how to articulate a product's voice to resonate with users.


Your communication skills enable productive interactions with visual thinkers, and you confidently advocate for your perspectives in our open, feedback-oriented culture.


Key Responsibilities:
You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, providing conceptualization, content strategy, and writing from initial ideation to final implementation.

You understand how to justify UX solutions with data, enhance designs through constructive feedback, and thoughtfully challenge existing norms.


You will initiate your own innovative projects and identify opportunities to enhance ongoing projects, elevating their quality.

You will collaborate with Design leadership to refine Netflix's guidelines and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of experience in writing for consumer-oriented digital products.

Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions autonomously.

A portfolio showcasing Content Design and user-centered product design strategies.

Experience in designing for streaming services, live television, and/or sports is advantageous.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Experience with A/B testing and experimental design.

Ability to critically analyze user journeys and content flows, making connections between them.

This is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Content Design Manager within the Member Experience Design (XD) team.

Our compensation structure is primarily based on an annual salary; bonuses are not part of our compensation model. You have the flexibility to choose how much of your compensation you wish to allocate to salary versus stock options each year.

The compensation range for this role is $120,000-$515,000.

We also provide paid leave programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off, while full-time salaried employees enjoy immediate access to flexible time off.
