Job Overview

Position Summary

The Lead Ecommerce Strategist for Amazon will report to the AVP of the Amazon Account and will be directly accountable for executing the strategic growth initiatives for the accounts under their management. This role requires close collaboration with Demand Planning and brand teams, as well as internal and external partners, to identify and fulfill all business requirements and opportunities for successful execution across all business facets. Additionally, the Lead Ecommerce Strategist will oversee product catalog data management and support other channels with their overall needs. This position is pivotal in fostering a high-performance culture while promoting the team's vision, mission, and values throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Management & Implementation

  • Formulate and execute strategies to broaden the product range or categories in alignment with the company's overarching goals.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to manage and implement product launch strategies on Amazon.
  • Proactively oversee and enhance listings to boost sales and maximize revenue.
  • Manage a discount/promotional calendar, setting up promotions across all brands while analyzing details at the item level for profitability, inventory availability, and sell-through rates.


Vendor Compliance & Relationship Management
Ensure adherence to Amazon's policies, regulations, and standards.

  • Stay informed about changes in Amazon's policies and ensure their effective implementation within the team.
  • Engage and negotiate with Amazon's vendor management team to secure optimal terms for product listings.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders within Amazon.
  • Remain updated on all changes to the Amazon platform; ensure the company is positioned to leverage any new features, products, or tools to enhance productivity and capitalize on growth opportunities.

Amazon Account Management

  • Oversee the Amazon product catalog of over 2,500 SKUs, ensuring product health and that items are correctly set up, actively selling, and in optimal condition.
  • Execute maintenance of product pages and digital asset management.
  • Monitor and analyze ASIN performance, rankings, ratings, and customer feedback.
  • Generate actionable insights from Amazon and other marketplace data analytics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Evaluate competitor product listings to identify best practices, new product opportunities, and areas needing improvement.
  • Identify trends and convert insights into actionable strategies.
  • Analyze sales performance weekly, prepare internal reports, and track key metrics such as daily run rate, glance view rate, and conversion rate.
  • Conduct business analysis to transform complex data into clear reports.
  • Assist the demand planning department with forecasting and weekly reviews of product demand changes, adjusting procurement schedules as necessary.
  • Manage product pricing and conduct ROI assessments on major promotions and initiatives.


Advertising

  • Develop and continuously refine an AMS/PPC/DSP strategy to drive profitable growth, ensuring customer acquisition costs align with the product margin model.
  • Coordinate with Amazon to ensure all paid initiatives are running effectively, focusing on ROI.
  • Manage product selection for Ads that align with company priorities.
  • Analyze advertising strategies, generate innovative ideas, and execute them independently.


Operations & Project Management

  • Enhance overall operational procedures in collaboration with cross-functional departments.
  • Coordinate and manage projects related to the Amazon platform, including new feature or tool implementations.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to resolve technical issues that may arise on the Amazon platform.
  • Support order processing with weekly purchase order submissions.
  • Forecast and measure dynamic growth while planning procurement.


Content Management

  • Upload and optimize product listings, content, visual assets, and conversion rates.
  • Supervise the Digital Content Specialist and establish standard operating procedures and strategies to ensure success.
  • Collaborate with all brand teams to ensure all content and imagery align with the launch plan for every item.
  • Implement merchandising strategies, harvest keywords, and create SEO-optimized content.


Team Development

  • Train and mentor the team in areas such as operational efficiency, data analytics, Amazon's vendor guidelines, and the company's business objectives.
  • Develop and execute a plan for team growth and career advancement.
