Job Overview

The Energy Systems Analyst is a key member of our team, responsible for assessing building mechanical and electrical systems while performing technical on-site surveys and in-office analysis on assigned projects.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the production of projects that meet industry standards & codes and client specifications.
  • Conduct site surveys to determine existing facility conditions and identify energy-efficient and deferred maintenance scope.
  • Perform mechanical system calculations, including load calculations and ventilation schedules.
  • Interact with owners, clients, and/or architects as needed, preparing meeting notes and designing mechanical systems for projects.
  • Assist the development team in coordinating with other disciplines, including energy modeling, financial modeling, lighting, and design.
  • Attend in-house and external training sessions to obtain knowledge in necessary technical areas related to building systems.
  • Participate in industry organizations and attend events, meetings, and activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a four-year ABET accredited university.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and aptitude.
  • Required experience in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with facility managers and engineers.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines while on survey.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to use technology and apps for collecting data while on survey.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 1-3 years of energy-related client interface for an engineering design firm.
  • Preferred experience with building energy services in the health and higher-education field.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical design drawings.
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).
  • Participation in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.
Travel and Physical Requirements

25-50% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location. The position requires ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles, as well as moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments.
