Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Inspector to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our Environmental Health and Safety department, you will be responsible for conducting fire safety field inspections, reviewing construction plans, and providing regulatory interpretation and technical advice.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct fire safety field inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Review construction plans and material submittals for code compliance
  • Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice to campus stakeholders
  • Assist with other fire prevention projects and events as assigned
Requirements
  • Knowledge of fire hazards inherent in research and industrial processes
  • Thorough written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of specific EH&S fields, including related laws and regulations
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with fire protection systems design and installation requirements
  • Professional certification in a relevant field
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled shift, wear personal protective equipment, and comply with UC vaccine policy.
