About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Inspector to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our Environmental Health and Safety department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fire safety field inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Review construction plans and material submittals to ensure code compliance.
  • Assist with other fire prevention projects and events as assigned.
  • Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of fire hazards inherent in research and industrial processes.
  • Thorough written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage projects within time and budget constraints.
  • Ability to work outside of regularly scheduled shift and wear personal protective equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with fire protection systems design and installation requirements.
  • Professional certification in a relevant field.
