We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Inspector to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our Environmental Health and Safety department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our campus community.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct fire safety field inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Review construction plans and material submittals to ensure code compliance.
- Assist with other fire prevention projects and events as assigned.
- Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice to stakeholders.
- Knowledge of fire hazards inherent in research and industrial processes.
- Thorough written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage projects within time and budget constraints.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, fire protection shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and other relevant documents.
- Experience with fire protection systems design and installation requirements, testing, and maintenance procedures.
- Professional certification in a relevant field.
This position requires the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled shifts, wear personal protective equipment, and comply with UC vaccine policy.
