Job Summary

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Health & Safety department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fire safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement fire safety training programs for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders to develop and implement fire safety policies and procedures.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including fires and other hazardous incidents.
  • Conduct investigations into fire incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as fire safety, environmental health, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in fire safety or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety codes and regulations, including NFPA and OSHA standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Professional certifications, such as CFPS or CFSI.
  • Experience with fire safety software and systems.
