Position Overview: The NYC Special Commissioner of Investigation is in search of a qualified individual to fulfill the role of Deputy Chief Investigator. This pivotal position entails overseeing and executing thorough evaluations of confidential investigative personnel, including supervising investigators and support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise sensitive and confidential investigations related to corruption, criminal behavior, and unethical practices.
- Assume the responsibilities of the Chief Investigator in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the development of investigative programs and initiatives.
- Provide guidance on investigative referrals and monitor the progress of ongoing investigations.
- Resolve internal disputes and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
- Develop and implement internal policies to standardize investigative practices.
- Prepare comprehensive investigative reports and recommend policy adjustments to the Department of Education.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with various administrative and law enforcement agencies across NYC.
- Oversee both short-term and long-term planning for operational programs and special projects.
Work Environment: This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for both in-office and remote work options following an initial training period.
