Job Summary

The Airport Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring all personnel are performing their duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and the relevant Facility Security Plan. This role requires a high level of customer service, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent customer service to all passengers, clients, terminal employees, and ship's crew.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform access control duties as necessary, in accordance with position post orders and the Facility Security Plan.
  • Perform passenger, baggage, and other physical screening as necessary, in strict adherence to the certification received through training.
  • Ensure all personnel are given required and requested breaks.
  • Ensure all personnel are posted properly and rotated as necessary, in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as the Facility Security Plan.
  • Properly maintain all associated Sensitive Security Information (SSI) materials.
  • Write and maintain reports of daily activities and irregularities.
  • Inspect work areas to ensure compliance with established regulations in regards to safety and maintenance.
  • Observe and evaluate worker's performance to ensure upward mobility and proper utilization of employee skills.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate in and speak fluent English.
  • Must be able to work in a client-focused role within a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and high levels of accuracy required.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • State Security Officer License required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associates degree or higher preferred.
  • Law Enforcement or Military experience preferred.
  • Customer Service experience preferred.
  • Screener certification (provided by company).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to inspect documents for validity, such as Port ID, driver's licenses, company ID's, and passports for access control.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of eight (8) hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to talk, listen, and speak clearly on a telephone/VHF two-way radio.
  • Ability to have sufficient computer and writing skills.
