About the Department:

The Department of Social Work is renowned for its faculty's expertise in behavioral health, violence prevention, and social justice initiatives. With a commitment to training future social workers through evidence-based methodologies, the department actively engages in collaborative research that integrates digital technology and innovative solutions to enhance service delivery. The department offers both BSW and MSW programs, including a fully online MSW option, with a focus on impactful practice and policy interventions.

About the Position:

This postdoctoral research associate role is essential for advancing the objectives set forth by funding agencies, as well as for contributing to the creation of scholarly articles and presentations related to a grant project that investigates the experiences of intimate partner violence among marginalized men.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts data collection, management, and analysis, contributing to the creation of reports, training materials, and scholarly publications;
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary faculty team across various institutions;
  • Provides mentorship and oversight to graduate and undergraduate research assistants;
  • Engages in projects involving previously gathered data on men's victimization across different regions, including data on sexual and gender minority populations;
  • Prepares articles for peer-reviewed journals and assists in grant proposal development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Recent Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in social work, psychology, sociology, criminology, public health, or a related field;
  • Proven experience in research related to interpersonal violence;
  • Strong background in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis;
  • Experience working collaboratively within a research team;
  • Advanced skills in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, NVivo);
  • Comprehensive understanding of interpersonal violence research;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in producing academic research outputs, including publications and conference presentations;
  • Familiarity with survey software such as Qualtrics;
  • Experience in leading or managing research teams.
