We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team at Veolia. As an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining an industrial wastewater pre-treatment facility.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain industrial wastewater pre-treatment facilities in a safe and efficient manner.
- Conduct laboratory analytical testing for product quality assurance/control and routine tests.
- Monitor control panels, adjust valves and gates, and monitor flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures and related controls.
- Diagnose basic operational problems and take corrective action per procedure.
- Verify and report suspected malfunctions and variances to supervisor or designee and take corrective actions.
- Ability to work independently in compliance with given instructions and direction.
- Perform grab and go field tests in order to adjust chemical dosages for processes.
- Comply with appearance and dress policies to ensure a safe and professional work environment.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by policy, work practices, and customer.
- Maintain a safe, neat and clean work environment, including work area and equipment.
- Work effectively in team environment and provide support and assistance to others.
- Commitment to promoting and creating a safety culture and positive work environment.
- One year of work experience in a related field.
- State licensing in water or wastewater treatment preferred.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Proficient using PC, email and word processing software.
- Pass drug screens, physical and safety sensitive background check.
- Ability to focus with attention to detail to complete tasks safely and correctly.
- Demonstrate ability to learn and then independently operate equipment.
- Frequently sit, stand, or walk for a minimum of 8-hour shifts, including walking long distances and on uneven ground.
- Frequently climb stairs and ladders, balance and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and maneuver in awkward positions.
- Frequently lift objects of up to 25 pounds in weight and carry objects of up to 25 pounds in weight. Occasionally push or pull objects of up to 25 pounds in weight.
- Talk & hear; use hands & fingers; handle & feel; and able to reach with hands and arms extensively.
- Vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Enter and work in confined space areas.
