Material Handler Job Description

Metals USA is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team in Fairless Hills, PA. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute customer work orders and prepare products for shipment.
  • Pull, assemble, and inspect customer orders, and load trucks for delivery.
  • Operate overhead cranes to load and unload trucks.
  • Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks.
  • Receive and return items into stock inventory as needed.
  • Transport materials from storage and/or worksites to designated areas using overhead cranes or forklifts.
Requirements:
  • Valid OSHA Forklift/Overhead Crane Certification (willing to train)
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
  • Basic reading and writing comprehension in English
  • Proficient measuring skills and ability to read measuring tapes, micrometers, and calipers
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to read and interpret documents (mechanical drawings, work orders, shipping & receiving orders)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a heavy industrial environment
  • Experience working with heavy industrial equipment
  • Overhead Crane/forklift experience
