Job Title: Material Handler

Metals USA is seeking a Material Handler to join our team in Fairless Hills, PA.

We are a growth-oriented, carbon-steel distribution center serving the defense, commercial, construction, aerospace, and fabrication industries.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute customer work orders and prepare products for shipment.
  • Pull, assemble, and inspect customer orders, then load trucks for delivery.
  • Operate overhead cranes to load and unload trucks.
  • Operate forklifts (5k or 10k) to load and unload trucks.
  • Receive and return items to stock inventory as needed.
  • Transport materials from storage and/or worksites to designated areas using overhead cranes or forklifts.
  • Secure lifting attachments to materials and transport them to the load destination using a crane or hoist, or signal crane or hoisting operators to move the load to destination.
Certifications/Licenses:
  • A valid OSHA Forklift/Overhead Crane Certification is a plus; we are willing to train.
  • A valid Pennsylvania Driver's License is required.
  • A High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions are required.
  • Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read instructions, tickets, safety and policies manuals) is required.
  • Proficient measuring skills and the ability to read measuring tapes, micrometers, and calipers are required.
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time is required.
  • The ability to read and interpret documents (mechanical drawings, work orders, shipping & receiving orders) is required.
  • Experience in a heavy industrial environment is preferred.
  • Experience working with heavy industrial equipment is preferred.
  • Overhead Crane/forklift experience is required.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to inspect material for quality and quantity is required.
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, multi-limb coordination, and hand-eye coordination are required.
