Position Overview & Responsibilities:

Position Overview:

This Talent Acquisition Specialist role is situated within the Bureau of Human Resources. The incumbent will be responsible for posting job advertisements, evaluating applications, and collaborating with senior management to ensure timely recruitment while adhering to established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborates with Bureau Chiefs and managers to identify necessary skills and competencies, and develops appropriate screening tools.
  • Composes job postings, sets application deadlines, and reviews submitted applications.
  • Prepares and dispatches communications to candidates regarding incomplete application materials, interview status, and job vacancy information.
  • Advises candidates on job openings, requirements, and procedures for securing employment.
  • Supplies hiring departments with applications and relevant documentation for qualified candidates.
  • Assists in formulating interview questions and reviews interview outcomes for compliance with policies.
  • Oversees the interview selection process to ensure proper documentation and addresses any issues related to hiring.
  • Maintains a vacancy and applicant tracking system to ensure timely notifications and completion of the hiring process.
  • Organizes a recruitment filing system.
  • Fosters relationships with the community and organizations to promote the agency and attract qualified applicants.
  • Engages in job fairs, applicant workshops, and other initiatives to recruit diverse candidates and fill challenging positions. Works with educational institutions to communicate available programs.
  • Provides support to other recruitment roles as necessary.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in managing or administering human resources functions.
  • Education may be considered in lieu of experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in recruiting, posting, and filling job openings.
  • Familiarity with recruitment software.

Post-Offer/Pre-employment Requirements:

  • Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate required in accordance with Executive Order. Each selected applicant must apply for a Tax Clearance Certificate within a specified timeframe.
