Assistant Manager Job Description

Westlake Village Inn is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Manager to join our team at Stonehaus, our renowned winery and restaurant. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Team Development: Organize, direct, and oversee the work of Front of House employees, training, evaluating, leading, motivating, coaching, and disciplining staff to uphold Westlake Village Inn's cultural and core standards.
  • Guest Experience & Relations: Ensure maximum guest satisfaction through proactive engagement, exceptional service, and attention to detail, fostering relationships with regular guests and cultivating new patrons to enhance loyalty.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, ensuring all areas function efficiently and effectively, communicating regularly with employees and management to ensure operational needs are met.
  • Financial Management: Control labor expenses through effective scheduling and inventory control, focusing on revenue generation solutions to maximize profitability.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a high level of knowledge of food and beverage products to ensure guests receive only the highest quality offerings, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations regarding food safety and alcohol service.
  • Facility Maintenance: Monitor the physical condition of the facilities and equipment daily, making recommendations and coordinating necessary improvements to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for guests.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Food & Beverage industry, with a strong background in managing upscale dining establishments or wineries.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and team development abilities, exceptional guest service orientation, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in financial management and operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations, including wine service, and a deep understanding of guest service excellence.
  • Education: A degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but optional if supplemented with extensive experience.
