Position Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to execute a range of food preparation and basic cooking duties within a limited menu environment, such as snack bar operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare various food items including grilling and frying, while monitoring cooking progress and adjusting as necessary.
- Measure and weigh ingredients according to established recipes for salads, desserts, and other items.
- Assemble and serve salads, sandwiches, and other food items, ensuring presentation and quality.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work areas, adhering to sanitation standards.
- May involve cash handling and operating a cash register, along with necessary documentation for financial accountability.
- Assist in inventory management as required.
Cleaning Duties:
- Responsible for cleaning cooking and dining areas, including washing dishes and operating dishwashing equipment.
- Ensure that all kitchen tools and equipment are properly maintained and cleaned.
Work Independence:
Employees are expected to complete assigned tasks independently after receiving initial instructions, with periodic checks by supervisors to ensure compliance with standards.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety regulations and protocols, utilizing required safety equipment and reporting any hazards or incidents promptly.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a food service environment.
- Knowledge of sanitation practices in food handling and service.
- Ability to follow recipes and prepare various dishes.
- Must be capable of obtaining a Food Handler's Certificate.
- Physical capability to lift items up to 40 pounds and perform various physical tasks for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience in food service.
