Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor - Credit Resolution to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our patient registration team, you will be responsible for supervising and training staff, managing department metrics, and ensuring a consistent representation of our organization in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train department staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Monitor and manage department metrics to ensure we are meeting our goals and objectives.
  • Provide cross-training to support multiple functions across all patient and payer types.
  • Ensure a consistent representation of our organization in a professional manner.
  • Perform patient registration tasks and manage patient flow.
  • Maintain organizational training requirements.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 8 years of customer service experience, including related hospital, clinic, medical office, business services/revenue cycle, front line registration, financial counseling, banking, hotel, retail, and/or customer service related experience and supervisory experience.
  • Or 3 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional degrees, business training experience, and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role, and keyboard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of patient registration, insurance verification, and payment negotiation.
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to handle/escalate difficult situations.
  • Moderate knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and functional areas.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekends hours, as required.
Physical and Environmental Demands

Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue, and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.

The incumbent works with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
