Job Overview

As a Clinical Equipment Specialist, you will deliver essential services for clinical devices under the direct oversight of management.

Your responsibilities will encompass the validation and assessment of clinical apparatus to ensure completeness, mechanical and electrical safety, and optimal functionality.

You will also engage in routine maintenance checks, calibrations, and repairs of various biomedical instruments. Collaborating with fellow technicians, you will assist in diagnosing and executing major repairs on intricate equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Services

  • Conduct initial inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety evaluations, and operational verification of biomedical devices.
  • Repair, install, and calibrate biomedical equipment.
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding repair statuses, scheduled evaluations, and any unusual equipment conditions or customer feedback.
  • Oversee and document the work of subcontractors, vendors, and external service technicians to guarantee effective service delivery.
  • Enhance biomedical knowledge through continuous training and professional development.
  • Support special projects related to service operations as assigned.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database, including inventory, maintenance schedules, and service history.
  • Comply with the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) and all relevant regulatory standards and policies.
  • Ensure that all service documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.
Client Relationship Management
  • Establish and nurture customer relationships.
  • Discuss equipment performance and status with healthcare professionals.
Inventory Management
  • Conduct regular assessments of inventory status.
  • Verify the completion of security evaluations for new equipment.
  • Perform Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain an accurate inventory of medical devices, including trial, rental, and loaner equipment.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the equipment database, including maintenance schedules and service history.
  • Provide recommendations regarding inventory management.
Additional Duties
  • Be available for on-call duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in a technical or electronics field (Required).
Experience:
A minimum of 3 months of experience in a clinical engineering environment with biomedical equipment is preferred. Equivalent military experience or two years of relevant experience may substitute for the Associate's degree.
