  • The Financial Equipment Service Specialist is expected to have expertise in at least one of the three specialization areas: locksmithing, drive-up services, or electronic security. This role involves installing equipment and providing support to existing clients by responding to service requests. Drive-up Specialists are responsible for the installation, repair, refurbishment, and servicing of remote drive-up systems, audio, and video equipment. Locksmiths manage a range of locking mechanisms, from basic drawer locks to more intricate locking devices such as vaults and secure keyways unique to the banking sector. Electronics Specialists offer support for various electrical and electronic projects.
  • Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of non-routine systems and equipment for drive-up, locksmith, and electronic projects. Systems include, but are not limited to, all manufacturer drive-up equipment (including remote drive-up), deal drawers, and audio and video equipment related to drive-up banking. Repair or replace damaged components of remote units.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace all components of remote, audio, and video equipment. May install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects. Perform preventative maintenance as required. Act as a mentor to less experienced staff by utilizing technical knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Handle moderately complex installations for remote units such as alert systems. Install new units with final connections, testing, and training.
  • Respond to moderately complex customer service requests, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency service calls promptly. Work assignments are varied, of moderate scope and complexity, and may require creativity and ingenuity in certain situations.
  • Identify potential project challenges, communicate with relevant parties, and assist in developing and implementing strategies to minimize deviations from estimated costs and project timelines.
  • Inspect completed work for compliance with specifications, requirements, and applicable manufacturer's guidelines. Refer only the most complex issues to higher levels.
  • Estimate costs, time, and materials for replacement equipment.
  • Clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and service equipment used in the performance of duties.
  • Execute all work in accordance with state and local regulations, general best practices, and company health and safety policies and procedures. Utilize strong troubleshooting skills to isolate and resolve issues in malfunctioning equipment or software systems.
  • Act as "our customer's best service provider" at all times, ensuring Convergint remains the first choice for service.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other team members consistently to enhance overall operations of the Convergint Center and the company. May provide management with insights regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques, and standards, as well as suggestions for product enhancements.
  • Stay informed and up-to-date on all company policies.
  • Present a professional image of Convergint at all times in appearance and conduct.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
What You'll Need
  • Working knowledge of drive-up, locking, and electronic systems specific to the banking industry.
  • Basic understanding of Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) and Network Video Recorders (NVRs) connected to the remote system.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Customer Focus - Maintaining awareness of and striving to meet the needs and wants of the customer.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Adaptability - Responds effectively to changes in situations or information.
  • Eligible for high-level security clearance.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience: (but not required):
  • Technical diploma and/or equivalent trade experience (e.g., Electrician)
  • 1 year of previous technician experience within a commercial, industrial, or facilities operation setting.
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
