Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and Reconcile Accounts Receivable Balances: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of patient accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors.
  • Identify and Resolve Billing Errors and Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve billing errors, denials, and discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Contact Insurance Companies and Follow Up on Outstanding Claims: Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claims and ensure timely payment.
  • Investigate and Respond to Patient Inquiries and Disputes: Respond to patient inquiries and disputes in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Post Payments and Adjustments in the Billing System: Accurately post payments and adjustments to patient accounts.
  • Prepare and Submit Appeals for Denied Claims: Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims in a timely manner.
  • Maintain Accurate and Organized AR Records and Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of patient accounts and billing activities.
  • Ensure Compliance with Healthcare Regulations and Insurance Guidelines: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance guidelines in all aspects of the job.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required
  • Prior Experience in Accounts Receivable or Medical Billing Role: Required
  • Knowledge of Medical Billing Procedures and Insurance Guidelines: Required
  • Proficiency in Using Billing Software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) Systems: Required
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Required
  • Excellent Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Required
  • Strong Organizational and Time Management Abilities: Required
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Required
  • Ability to Work Independently and Collaboratively in a Team Environment: Required
