Position Title: Senior Accountant - Inventory Management

Role Summary:

The Senior Accountant will execute a range of accounting functions, focusing on the analysis, reconciliation, recording, and reporting of financial data in alignment with established accounting standards. This role is crucial in maintaining robust internal controls and delivering financial insights to support management's strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in period-end closing processes, including the review of the general ledger and preparation of financial statements.
  2. Maintain the general ledger and inventory management systems, ensuring accurate physical counts.
  3. Support the enhancement of internal controls related to inventory management.
  4. Investigate discrepancies in cycle counts and implement resolutions.
  5. Monitor inventory transactions and collaborate with procurement to manage excess or obsolete stock.
  6. Oversee the calculation of monthly depreciation and report on departmental budget expenditures.
  7. Facilitate weekly general ledger interfacing, ensuring accurate report formatting and reconciliation.
  8. Update and manage lease administration software.
  9. Contribute to the preparation of the annual business plan and periodic forecasts.
  10. Assist in coordinating internal and external audits, as well as tax reporting requirements.
  11. Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 3 years in a corporate accounting role is required, along with proficiency in generally accepted accounting principles.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
  • Legal authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in the home improvement sector or a related industry is advantageous. Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting systems is preferred. CPA certification is a plus.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, requiring sedentary work with occasional light lifting. The environment is climate-controlled, providing a comfortable workspace.
