The Senior Accountant - Inventory plays a crucial role in the financial operations of Leaf Home Safety Solutions Inc. This position is responsible for a range of accounting functions that ensure the integrity of financial data and support effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of financial information in compliance with established accounting principles.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and provide essential financial insights to management.
  • Assist in the period-end closing process, including general ledger review and preparation of financial statements.
  • Oversee the general ledger and inventory management system, ensuring accurate physical counts.
  • Enhance internal controls related to inventory management and investigate discrepancies in cycle counts.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and collaborate with procurement to manage excess or obsolete stock.
  • Calculate monthly depreciation and report on departmental budget expenditures.
  • Perform weekly general ledger interfacing and reconcile financial reports.
  • Update lease management software and assist in preparing annual business plans and forecasts.
  • Support internal and external audits, including tax reporting and special projects as required.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate accounting environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills, is essential. Strong communication skills, time management, and the ability to meet strict deadlines are critical for success in this role.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the home improvement or manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting systems.
  • CPA certification is a plus.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, involving sedentary work in a climate-controlled environment. Occasional lifting of light objects may be required.
