Overview

The Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager collaborates closely with the Controller to enhance the department's capability to meet the business's financial needs. This role is pivotal in overseeing, analyzing, and reporting on product costs, manufacturing expense budgets, inventory levels, fixed assets, working capital, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Furthermore, this position provides a financial analytical viewpoint that supports management's decision-making while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees and refines the expedited month-end closing process, including journal entries.
  • Gathers and presents precise and trustworthy information regarding the financial performance of the division.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly reports for Corporate, encompassing company financial statements and tax-related information requests.
  • Reviews and verifies monthly reconciliations.
  • Maintains robust internal controls over company procedures to ensure compliance with management policies and regulatory standards.
  • Leads the annual physical inventory process and supervises the reconciliation of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods inventory balances.
  • Identifies and implements enhancements to accounting procedures.
  • Recognizes operational risks and proposes actionable solutions for management consideration.
  • Develops, mentors, and assesses the performance of the Accounting team.
  • Plans and directs training and professional development for Accounting personnel.
  • Supports Corporate and internal initiatives and projects.
  • Engages in compliance with Government Accounting standards and regulations.
  • Fosters effective cross-functional relationships; cultivates a team environment that aligns with organizational goals, objectives, and corporate values.
Qualifications and Educational Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • MBA and/or CPA is preferred.
  • 3+ years of post-graduate Accounting experience (public accounting experience is preferred).
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Oracle and Hyperion (HFM) is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements for accounting practices is essential.
Compensation: $100,000 to $125,000 + bonus
