Job Summary

Emory University is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients, documenting the delivery of care in individual medical records.
  • Diagnostic Procedures: Conduct patient interviews, document patient histories, and perform physical examinations, including cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with physicians to diagnose medical problems, develop care plans, and prescribe treatment, communicating with patients about scheduled procedures and their anticipated effects.
  • Education and Training: Educate patients on health habits, self-examinations, and behavior management, and train other healthcare professionals in techniques and procedures.
  • Professional Development: Work with managers to formulate plans for professional development, attending educational in-services and participating in professional activities and organizations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain and update current, accurate patient records, including medical assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare statistical reports and analyses of research projects and investigational protocols, reporting on progress and adverse trends.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Experience: May require at least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and Healthcare Provider certifications required.
