Job Overview

Southeastern Rheumatology Alliance is on the lookout for a committed and service-oriented Patient Services Representative to enhance our healthcare team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that patients and their families experience seamless interactions during their healthcare journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Efficiently manage patient appointment scheduling through electronic systems.
  • Confirm patient details, including demographics, insurance coverage, and medical history during the registration process.
  • Collect necessary payments from patients, including co-payments and outstanding balances.
  • Respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance representatives via phone.
  • Assist patients in completing registration documents and other essential forms.
  • Facilitate referrals to specialists and additional healthcare providers as instructed by medical staff.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations in all communications.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and support staff to promote patient satisfaction and ensure continuity of care.
  • Carry out additional administrative tasks as required, such as filing, scanning, and data entry.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • An associate degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience in a customer service capacity.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
