POSITION SUMMARY


The Automation Engineer is tasked with evaluating the manufacturing processes and ensuring the mechanical integrity of products, aiming to meet or surpass the expectations of both the company and its clients.

This role primarily focuses on identifying and implementing automation solutions within the current manufacturing landscape, leveraging lean manufacturing principles and fostering continuous improvement through design and process enhancements.


CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Spearhead the design and execution of automation systems for both existing and future production lines. This encompasses creating a comprehensive business case, defining necessary equipment, and monitoring the performance of the implemented solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Diagnose and adjust automation equipment and programming as required to ensure ongoing operational success and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guarantee manufacturability (DFM) and automation design (DFA).
  • Identify and apply Lean Manufacturing methodologies to existing processes and work cells to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and reduce manufacturing costs through industry best practices and advanced automation techniques.
  • Provide guidance and oversee the application of fabrication and tool & die making skills to support manufacturing line requirements.
  • Coordinate and execute product analysis, functionality, and validation testing activities for both existing and new products to assess commercial viability, durability, functionality, fatigue, characterization, and evaluation.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is essential.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks.
  • Background in working with Fanuc Robots is advantageous.
  • Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex scientific and technical documents.
  • Skilled in interacting with diverse, cross-functional teams across the organization, including senior management.
  • Competent in solving intricate mathematical problems involving various units of measure.
  • Able to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages accurately.
  • Proficient in interpreting a wide range of information for effective problem-solving.
  • Support and develop DFMEA and PFMEA while collaborating within a Cross-Functional Team.
Travel

  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
