POSITION SUMMARY


The Automation Engineer will play a crucial role in evaluating the manufacturing processes and ensuring the mechanical integrity of products, aligning with both company standards and customer expectations.

This position primarily focuses on recognizing and executing automation solutions within the current manufacturing framework, emphasizing lean manufacturing principles and continuous enhancement through design and process improvements.


CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Spearhead the design and deployment of automation systems for both existing and upcoming production lines. This encompasses a comprehensive business case, specification of necessary equipment, and monitoring the performance of the implemented solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Diagnose and adjust automation machinery and programming as required to maintain operational success and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability (DFM) and automation design (DFA) are prioritized.
  • Identify and apply Lean Manufacturing methodologies to existing processes and work cells to boost safety, quality, efficiency, and reduce manufacturing costs through industry best practices and advanced automation.
  • Provide guidance and oversee the application of fabrication and tool & die making skills to meet manufacturing line requirements.
  • Coordinate and execute product analysis, functionality, and validation testing for both existing and new products to assess commercial viability, durability, functionality, fatigue, characterization, and evaluation.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is essential.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc Robots is preferred.
  • Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex scientific and technical documents.
  • Ability to engage with diverse, cross-functional teams throughout the organization, including senior management.
  • Competent in solving intricate mathematical problems, including basic arithmetic operations.
  • Skilled in calculating rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Adept at interpreting various information sources for problem-solving.
  • Support and develop DFMEA and PFMEA while collaborating within a cross-functional team.
