About the Role

Maxar is seeking a seasoned professional to join our Westminster, CO-based HR team as a Manager of Internal Communications. This role is responsible for developing and executing internal and change management communication strategies that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement internal and change management communications strategies and plans that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Create and manage content for written internal and change management communications, including newsletters, intranet, email, social, announcements, and other communications.
  • Manage the execution of Town Halls, Ask Me Anything's (AMA's), and other in-person and virtual internal meetings and conversations.
  • Act as the voice of the CEO and CHRO internally on change management and transformational messaging, as well as externally on Talent Acquisition (TA) marketing platforms.
  • Directly manage a small team providing leadership, mentorship, and vision for success.
  • Manage the internal communications budget, ROI, and track the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and executive leadership to ensure alignment of internal communications initiatives.
  • Work with external vendors to create effective internal communications materials.
  • Monitor internal communications channels for feedback and comments.
  • Measure and track the effectiveness of internal communications programs.
  • Lead internal social platform requiring timeline and accurate responses to employee inquiries.
  • Implement and manage internal communications cloud-based tool while engaging key stakeholders across the organization.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in internal communications, public relations, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience directly managing or leading a team and working directly with executive leadership, including the CEO level.
  • Strong knowledge of various internal communications channels, such as digital signage, intranet, email, and social media.
  • Proficient in internal communications software, including Sharepoint, email platforms, and comprehensive employee experience software tools.
  • Experience demonstrating strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and successfully manage multiple, highly visible initiatives at the same time.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
