Overview of the Position:

Wells Fargo is in search of a Senior Testing Compliance Manager within the Independent Testing & Validation (IT&V) division, part of Corporate Risk. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our Enterprise Testing program at the corporate level. The IT&V team is dedicated to creating and upholding a unified testing methodology and standards, providing oversight, executing evaluations, and conducting comprehensive reviews.

The Senior Manager will oversee extensive compliance evaluations and UDAAP assessments. This position entails managing multiple intricate testing projects that span various sectors within Consumer and Small Business Banking. As an individual contributor, this role requires leadership capabilities and engagement management to navigate all facets of testing, from planning and preparation to execution and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct multiple projects in a complex environment as an individual contributor, executing high-level review activities across different business sectors.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with significant risk awareness and business insight, alongside a thorough understanding of procedures, risks, controls, compliance, testing, and the evaluation of findings.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of the risk profile related to the subject matter of engagement reviews (e.g., Lines of Business, Enterprise Functions, risk programs, etc.). Lead the evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and control environments, ensuring that market, business, and regulatory changes are integrated.
  • Determine the scope and approach for engagement management approval.
  • Supervise engagement execution activities, perform quality assessments, evaluate and escalate findings, provide constructive feedback on remedial actions, and ensure adherence to reporting and resolution protocols.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and distribution of reports, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Facilitate collaborative efforts with internal (IT&V) and external (business partners, audit, compliance, industry risk partners, regulators, etc.) stakeholders to support engagement needs.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships through effective communication to support a wide range of engagement review activities.
Essential Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Independent Testing or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading complex testing projects.
  • Familiarity with UDAAP regulations.
  • Background in a Big Four or regional public accounting firm with experience in general controls, business processes, regulatory compliance, or advisory services.
  • Experience in Audit, Consumer Compliance, and Testing.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and senior management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage various levels of management, including senior leaders and executives.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, achieve objectives, and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and a high level of responsibility.
  • Ability to summarize and propose new strategies or solutions.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
