Job Responsibilities
  • Software Verification: Perform requirements-based software verification of embedded software to ensure it meets customer needs and company technical requirements.
  • Technical Leadership: Plan and perform a variety of tasks across software requirements analysis, documentation, hardware-software integration, troubleshooting, problem solving, and software verification testing.
  • Embedded Software Development: Work on programs involving the development, maintenance, upgrade, and porting of embedded product software and/or product support software to enhance, implement and support project/system functionality.
  • Mentorship: Mentor less experienced software engineers and software test engineers to help develop their software development, test capabilities, and troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate across other engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Systems to ensure technical approach is consistent with established engineering principles and practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security clearance.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field of study.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in verification testing of real-time, embedded software.
  • Technical Skills: Experience developing tests using TestStand and/or LabView tools from NI, developing, analyzing, and/or reviewing requirements for safety critical real-time embedded software, low-level integration and test, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Software Development: Ability to develop, debug, and execute automated and manual requirements-based software verification testing.
  • Version Control: Familiarity with version control and issue tracking tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Architecture: Experience working with software architecture and design information captured in models using tools such as Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect, or similar model-based engineering tool.
  • Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with weapon systems, munitions, and/or combat vehicle functionality and capability.
  • CI/CD Tools: Experience using GitLab or other CI/CD tools.
  • Traceability: Traceability across software requirements, design, and verification artifacts.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Testing and troubleshooting software in the areas of communications, device drivers, and IO interfaces.
  • Real-Time Operating Systems: Integrating and testing software with various real-time operating systems such as vxWorks and Linux/Unix derivatives.
