Job Overview
Position Title: Security Operations Specialist
Reports To: Customer and Program Manager
Clearance Type: Active Secret
Work Location: Remote / National Capital Region (some telework is anticipated)

Role Summary:

Advantage SCI is in search of Security Operations Specialists to enhance criminal history record information and provide law enforcement support for military or civilian personnel involved in criminal indexing initiatives. This role encompasses the design and delivery of instructional materials aimed at criminal indexing, including both in-person and virtual training sessions.

Some travel may be required, which could include local, temporary duty assignments, or international travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creating, preparing, and presenting instructional content that aligns with criminal indexing policies and protocols.
  • Updating and developing training programs focused on criminal records through intentional course design, including lesson plans and instructional guides.
  • Conducting training sessions for groups of 20-30 participants monthly, either onsite or as part of a mobile training team.
  • Preparing training manuals and resources for field unit training initiatives.
  • Offering expertise in content development and managing materials within government-provided learning management systems.
  • Supporting the government in the creation, revision, and delivery of in-person, mobile training, and virtual training related to law enforcement subjects, IT systems in law enforcement, administrative and criminal indexing, case management, and records management.
  • Monitoring, tracking, and reporting on internal workflows.
  • Assessing the overall organizational effort through monthly reporting and dashboards.
  • Collaborating with data analytics and robotic process automation contractors to integrate products effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience and an associate's degree or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proven experience in security management, assessments, law enforcement, and criminal justice operations and training.
  • Ability to recommend and draft organizational training and procedural documents; develop and conduct virtual training; establish guidelines for curriculum development and training; evaluate management and assessment methodologies; prepare and deliver high-level briefings; conduct research; and prepare reports and special studies.
Working Conditions:
  • Capable of sitting and working at a computer for extended periods.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach as necessary.
  • Occasionally able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Noise level is generally low to moderate.
