Project/Construction Management Intern Job Description

Heico Construction Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project/Construction Management Intern to join our team. As a Project/Construction Management Intern, you will assist the project team in establishing project schedules and work tasks, support the planning and estimating stage of projects, and coordinate with suppliers/vendors and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Scheduling and Coordination: Assist the project team in establishing project schedules and work tasks, and adapt schedules and work tasks accordingly.
  • Planning and Estimating: Support the planning and estimating stage of projects to ensure the most efficient, safe, and economical form system are incorporated into the project design.
  • Document Control: Assist with supporting the preparation of accurate formwork layout drawings and erection instructions for field crews.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers/vendors and subcontractors during the estimating phase.
  • Material and Equipment Scheduling: Assist with the development and coordination of material and equipment schedules.
  • Project Monitoring: Work closely with the project team monitoring the safety, cost, and scheduling of construction projects.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve concerns regarding structural design with project team.
  • Special Projects: Perform special projects and complete all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: In the process of obtaining a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.
  • Technical Skills: Must be able to read and understand construction drawings and be familiar with take-off drawings; basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or BIM Modeling.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.
  • Analytical and Organizational Skills: Detail oriented with the ability to efficiently analyze and organize significant amounts of information regarding plan layouts, material deliveries and jobsite productivities.
  • Software Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Safety Knowledge: Basic knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • Experience: Experience in budgeting, forecasting and scheduling materials and equipment and supervising jobsite productivity and personnel, a plus.
