Position Overview

ROLE PURPOSE: The Capital Projects Manager will support the Capital Program Management Team by overseeing the development, execution, and management of various infrastructure projects. These projects encompass upgrades to treatment facilities, collection systems, and other critical initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency. The role requires a strategic approach to project management, ensuring adherence to design specifications, budget constraints, and timelines.

The Capital Projects Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing administrative and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include evaluating construction techniques, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Directing all construction-related activities to ensure projects meet quality standards and budgetary requirements.
  • Coordinating and supervising the efforts of company personnel and contractors.
  • Monitoring project budgets, schedules, and progress, with regular reviews with team members.
  • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation and logs.
  • Implementing safety programs and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment varies based on project requirements, including office settings, operational sites, and construction zones. The role may involve intermittent travel and requires a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in engineering design, construction management, and project oversight, particularly in water and wastewater sectors.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, technologies, and standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and planning abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management and cost estimation.
