Position Overview:

Chevrolet Milford is in search of a seasoned Automotive Parts Operations Leader with a robust background in dealership parts management, particularly within the GM framework. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the dealership achieves a profitable return on its investment in parts inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and pursue departmental goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, train, and guide parts department personnel to enhance performance.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the parts division.
  • Maintain an inventory that aligns with the needs of the service department, body shop, and retail customers.
  • Establish pricing strategies that balance profitability with customer loyalty.
  • Optimize inventory levels for maximum turnover and minimize obsolescence.
  • Ensure proper tagging of parts for full credit recovery from manufacturers.
  • Oversee stock ordering processes and enforce policies on special orders.
  • Analyze monthly sales, expenses, and inventory to meet profit targets.
  • Implement a wholesale parts program to drive profitability.
  • Collaborate with service and body shop managers for efficient parts delivery.
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings and managers' discussions.
  • Evaluate departmental operations and storage for improved efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to parts staff.
  • Monitor payroll records for parts department employees.
  • Ensure timely processing of shipping and receiving operations.
  • Review daily performance reports to track productivity.
  • Develop customer engagement strategies, including telemarketing initiatives.
  • Launch sales promotions and leverage manufacturer advertising programs.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and address complaints promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting parts sales.
  • Uphold a professional appearance and promote a clean work environment.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with relevant experience in parts management. Additional qualifications may include:

  • Completion of a one-year certificate from a college or technical school.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 2-10 years of experience in automotive parts management.
