Custodian II

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian II to join our team at the State of Vermont. As a key member of our Operations and Maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in custodial work, including floor maintenance tasks such as stripping and waxing floors and carpet extraction. You will be working independently and as part of a team to achieve our goals.

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of facilities, including offices, common areas, and restrooms
• Perform floor maintenance tasks, such as stripping and waxing floors and carpet extraction
• Operate cleaning equipment and machinery, such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers
• Dispose of trash and recyclables in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner
• Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives

• One year or more of building custodial work experience, including floor maintenance tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift weights of up to 50 lbs and climb ladders
• Valid driver's license and own transportation for travel between work locations
