About This Role

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte is seeking a skilled and compassionate Human Resources Generalist to support the various functions within the Human Resources department. As a key member of the team, you will provide exceptional service to employees and retirees, ensuring a seamless experience in benefits, retirement, and compensation matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Benefits Support: Provide guidance to employees and retirees on insurance plans, enrollment eligibility, and navigation of the enrollment platform.
  • Retirement Support: Assist priests transitioning into retirement, explaining Medicare and the diocese's supplemental medical plan, and processing reimbursement requests for eligible medical expenses not covered by insurance.
  • HR Administration: Monitor pre-employment background checks, assist in investigatory procedures, and ensure FCRA compliance. Submit HR department invoices for payment and maintain accurate records.
  • Office Support: Order office supplies, organize storage areas, and check the HR department mailbox and email inbox daily.
  • Communication: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, leadership, priests, and external contacts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or 2 years of experience in Human Resources in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Human Resources department or 1 year of employment with the diocese.
  • Prior experience supporting retirement and benefits functions in HR is preferred.
  • Intermediate level MS Excel skills are preferred but not required.
