Summer Camp Unit Coordinator

The Salvation Army's Boston Kroc Center is seeking a Summer Camp Unit Coordinator to join our team. As a Summer Camp Unit Coordinator, you will play a vital role in implementing the day-to-day activities of the children enrolled in the camp.
Responsibilities:- Assist with daily activities such as devotions, crafts, mystery programs, recreation, music, drama, lunch, snacks, games, trips, and more.
- Provide supervision and general childcare to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all campers.
- Prepare devotional time, including Bible stories, spiritual object lessons, choruses, and prayer, for the entire day camp.
- Handle disciplinary actions in accordance with the Camp Manual and report any issues to the Education Manager.
- Assist with camp training for counselors and junior counselors.
- Develop course and subject-specific curriculum for school-aged children.
- Perform various administrative tasks, including ordering supplies, coordinating schedules, and completing reports and record-keeping.
- Assist the Education Manager in overseeing daily activities, general camp operations, and programs to ensure a quality camp experience.
- Lead and assist in weekly staff meetings and debriefing.
- Set a Christian example for campers, parents, staff, and volunteers.
- Represent The Salvation Army's spiritual ministry and social mission in the camp program.
- Engage in Christian spiritual conversations with members of the public and in the corps.
- Recognize spiritual needs of individuals that may require referral to the Corps.
- Complete Camp Staff Orientation, including Keep SAfe Training.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, or Child Care strongly preferred.
- Minimum of six months experience working or volunteering with school-age children.
- Experience with Christian Education Programs for school-age children, such as Sunday School or Vacation Bible Study.
- Must have a keen interest and sincere appreciation for children.
- Must be at least twenty-one years of age.
