Role Overview:
The Test Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive design, engineering, testing, and analytical support to enhance the development and upkeep of orthopedic implants and instruments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver design, engineering, testing, and analytical support for orthopedic products.

2. Utilize robust engineering problem-solving methodologies for product development and maintenance, focusing on design, analysis, material selection, testing, and manufacturing processes.

3. Offer guidance on experimental design, coordinate schedules, and analyze results for tests conducted by external facilities.

4. Prepare and present detailed reports and communications regarding product design testing, performance metrics, and project progress.

5. Engage in various activities including regulatory submissions, design history documentation, device evaluation, manufacturing support, quality assurance, and instrument refurbishment.

6. Develop, define, and implement testing methods, protocols, and reports to support product development and validation efforts.

7. Assess the feasibility and scientific integrity of requested product tests.

8. Design necessary tooling and fixtures to facilitate testing assignments.

9. Establish a comprehensive project testing plan, outlining tasks, dependencies, schedules, and resource needs to ensure timely completion.

10. Adhere to the Quality System and relevant Federal and International standards.


Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.

Experience:
A solid understanding of theoretical and technical principles in areas such as experimental design, materials testing (static, fatigue, wear, and impact), engineering dynamics, mechanics of materials, and mechanical design is essential.

Skills and Abilities:
1. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
2. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
3. Practical knowledge of mechanical testing techniques, engineering drawing interpretation, manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements.
4. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and prioritize tasks.
5. Proficiency in various software applications, including Microsoft Office, CAD, and statistical tools.

Travel Requirements:
Up to 10% travel may be required.
