Job Description and Duties

The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) or Outreach Specialist will perform a variety of tasks pertaining to the Authority's comprehensive stakeholder and public outreach program in the Central Valley. The incumbent will research information, prepare presentations, develop talking points and fact sheets, plan events, and respond to requests for information from stakeholders and the public in support of the objectives of the California high-speed rail program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and analyze information to support the development of outreach materials and presentations
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage stakeholders and the public
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to various audiences
  • Respond to requests for information from stakeholders and the public
  • Manage and draft correspondence and represent the Authority with community and stakeholder groups
Working Conditions:

The incumbent will work in a professional office environment, with part-time telework available for California residents. Hiring interviews may be available virtually, using teleconferencing or video conferencing options. The incumbent will be required to use a computer, mouse, and keyboard, and will be required to sit for long periods of time at a computer screen.

Special Requirements:

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required and must be included. The SOQ must be no more than three (3) pages, single-spaced, with one-inch margins, in 12-point font, organized and numbered as reflected below.

  • Describe your experience working on behalf of a public agency, non-profit, or public policy organization or issue area.
  • Describe your experience developing a public presentation and provide an example of how you made complex or technical information understandable for non-technical audiences.
  • Describe a time when you anticipated potential problems that were significant to your team's work and developed preventive measures.
